Plus 568 Flushing Fluid, 1 Liter (1.06 qt), 568-001
Recommended Flush Fluid Procedure
WARNING: Use P+ FLUSHING FLUID only in pumps made for hydrocarbon oils
- Place a small amount of P+ FLUSHING FLUID in a container and set aside. This is to compare against flushing fluid that is drained from the pump after completing these steps
- Run the pump till it’s up to standard operating temperature, then disconnect from electrical supply.
- Open the drain port to drain the existing hydrocarbon oil while the pump is still warm. Tilt the pump so as much of the used oil is drained from the pump and if possible, rotate the pump mechanism manually to ensure most of the oil has been drained.
- Close the drain and refill the pump with the P+ FLUSHING FLUID as you would do it with your standard oil after a change.
- Connect the pump to electrical supply and other connections (e.g. exhaust filter, etc).
- Turn the pump on and leave it running till it’s up to standard operating temperature (or close to). If pump has a gas ballast, then alternately open and close the valve to help stirring the flushing fluid in the pump.
- Disconnect the pump from electrical supply and drain the P+ FLUSHING FLUID as you would on a normal oil change.
- Take a small amount of the drained P+ FLUSHING FLUID and compare color and sediment levels to the original sample taken in the first step.
- If there is a big discrepancy in color and sediment, you should consider doing a second flushing.
- When the drained P+ FLUSHING FLUID is close to the origin color, then drain it completely and close the drain port.
- Proceed by filling your pump with your new hydrocarbon oil and the pump is ready for use.
