1- Most scroll pumps emit more sound/noise during pump down versus other vacuum pumps. If pump runs quieter at operating pressure the noise may be normal for your pump. Most scroll pumps have readily available silencer filters, which should reduce noise. Contact Us for appropriate silencer.
2- Hammering noise
A) Pump may be overheating.
Check ventilation to pump and ambient temperature.
B) Debris in pump.
Check intake screen. Flush Pump.
Disassemble pump and inspect.
3- Humming or Grinding noise - Replace bearings, rotary seals and O-rings if the pump bearings exhibit humming or grinding noises.
